We produce alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialities inspired by our local history and agriculture. And cross the borders to other culinary traditions in the process. We are happy to show you around our farm. So if you'd like to learn more about what goes on between the field and the drinking pleasure, feel free to visit our farm shop or arrange a personal tasting.

We wish you much pleasure,

Nicole and Jan

QUITE WILD.

In 2017, we began to revive beers according to historical models. Not with a pure-bred yeast, as is common nowadays, but with our own house culture of wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria. Our home culture can be compared to a sourdough in an artisan bakery. It tastes better, is more digestible and stays fresh longer.

AN OLD COWSHED AND LOTS OF OLD BEER.

We have converted an old cowshed into a brewery in Alverskirchen and produce an average of 250 hl of beer and 60 hl of cider. Our main product is Münstersch Alt, a barrel-aged beer with a wine-like character. And so we have around a hundred oak barrels in the brewery, in which the beers are cooled and slowly matured.

CRAFT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.

Our brewery and farm is located in the countryside near Münster (Westphalia). Our cultural landscape has much to offer. The ingredients come from our own harvest or from partners we trust - organic and regional whenever possible. We cultivate 4.5 hectares of meadow orchards with old varieties, as well as meadows and arable land.

PURE NATURE.

Old varieties of apples, quinces, mirabelles and other fruits grow in our orchards, which we harvest and process entirely by hand with a focus on perfect fruit. This care is also necessary, because we rely on spontaneous fermentation and do not use any added sulphur along the entire production chain. Genuine natural wine, in other words.

GRAINS AND AGRICULTURE.

With the exception of a small amount of special malt, all the grains come from the immediate vicinity and from organic production. Our speciality is the "black peacock barley", which we have been growing since 2018. It not only looks particularly beautiful, it also gives the beer more flavour.

LOUD IN THE GLASS WITHOUT SHOUTING.

Our drinks are expressive without being overpowering. Our focus is on producing accessible fresh beers, barrel-aged sour beers and ciders. Comparable to a good wine, you can expect complex, dry and fruity flavours. They offer excellent possibilities in food pairings.

The Kemker Kultuur brewery is located on a farm in Alverskirchen - 10 km from Münster's city centre. You can reach it easily by bike, car or bus (R22 from Münster main station).
